Burning Inside

Burning Inside

A Poem by Kiara

I hold in the tears,

I hold back the screams.

No one would care,

Trust me, I know.

I take a thousand daggers to my heart,

Yet say nothing but "I'm sorry."

Just tear apart my flesh and bone.

Take away this pain.

I know I'll never be good enough.

I know no one will ever want me here.

No one can see the fire burning in my lungs

And no one can see me trying to run.

I'll just take this blade and pierce my skin,

Allow my blood to run,

Allow death to win.

Just let me die now.
