Somewhere Safe

Somewhere Safe

A Poem by Kiara
"

I just feel really zoned out sitting here listening to music.

"
I'm not here.
I nod and smile,
Speak in short sentences at most.
My music is playing
And I'm calm.
I'm not here.
I'm where I can't feel.
My eyes are tired.
My body doesn't ache.
I'm not here.
I can't think.
My lips glue themselves shut.
Emotions flow in the air.
I'm not here.
I can't feel.
Nothing here makes sense.
I can't see or hear.
I'm not here.
I want to hide,
To be invisible.
I'm not here.
Stop talking to me.
I'm not here.
Just let my music keep me safe.
I'm not here.
Please just go away
Because I'm not here.
