Into Oblivion

Into Oblivion

A Poem by Taylor Williams

ive broken out of this cage

built from discontent

so dont you dare tell me

to back off

to quit marching on

forward to my dreams

and into oblivion

until i reach the sky

you can sit there and wonder why

im surpassing you in every single way

so as i climb

out of this putrid waste

i leave you here to rot

in this seemingly

endless grave

and dont you f*****g say

that you were betrayed

when you never even had faith in me

impossible is not my reality

I really like the last four lines; raw, honest truth.

What you have written ... so far... stands on the own. I applaud your choice to forgo any punctuation and even capitalization. It fits with the tone. You've told your betrayer that you will survive and thrive. The strength of the piece is there, but me, the reader, wants the vulnerability and dare I say the love. This person must have meant a great deal to you to affect you such. Explore that and see where it takes you. Just a suggestion
