The Echo in the Light

just a little five minute spur of the moment thing

i remember countless times

within my life

that all has seemed to be

hopeless in every way

i couldnt see the light

if the sun was inches away

i never saw the darkness

fade away

until i heard your voice

calling to me

from the darkness and shadows

consuming my mind

you were the light

that helped to guide

my sanity

back to the realms of reality

to a place where light shone through

to a place where i could breathe

so in this place of serenity

where hope had finally found me

i opened my eyes to finally see

the angel the presence

the one that could heal me

i never saw the darkness

fade away

until i heard your voice

calling to me

from the darkness and shadows

consuming my mind

you were the light

you were the light 

you are the light
