Internal Struggle

Internal Struggle

A Poem by Taylor Williams

Turn an ear
And hear the winds
Of change my dear
This is the end
Let go

It's been a long time coming
And I've finally arrived
To the end of my dreaming
I finally reached a point in life
Where all that makes sense
Was just blown away
Blasted through my shell
And revealed the rust
My reflection looked like hell
And I realized something must
Be done

So turn an ear
And hear the winds
Of change my dear
This is the end
Please let go

Of everything I've done
The monster I've become
I'm through with diving to the bottom
Of every whiskey bottle
To reach the same conclusion
Of a drunken state delusion
This is no resolution
Instead extermination
Committing genocide
Within my own mind
I'm taking everything back
From the demons inside
That dragged me back
To this hell, where I reside

So turn an ear
And hear the winds
Of change my dear
This is the end
I no longer fear
No longer pretend
That my heart is clear
And unburdened
The signs were whispered
And my heart listened
The path I'm on
Has reached it's end
