The Doors

The Doors

A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
"

Written 25 March 1992

"

I stop and think of my life in the past

And usually start to cry

With hardships that I thought would last

Are now just passing by

All the doors that I had locked

So I could not see in

I now can stand to peep inside

And learn to begin again

Sometimes we are knocked off balance

So that we never want to stand

And sometimes we may cry so hard

With no one to lend a hand

But the more the years go by us

And the more that we grow up

We can face what is behind those doors

The doors that we have shut

"Sometimes we are knocked off balance
So that we never want to stand"

Really good lines! I like this poem for the way it flows, rhymes and conveys meaning. It's like a proverbial lesson to us all. Reminds me of the metaphor of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'...

Seems like one of those songs that tell you to keep going, keep moving... great!
