A Night For Memories

A Night For Memories

A Poem by Teddybearlee

In the beginning
It was walking you to your car
The kiss goodbye
You having to slide in from the passenger side door

It was you stopping in
With your spongebob shirt on
Leaving notes for your friend
Walking out leaving me smiling after you were long gone

It was the first date
The bowling, the pool, the eatnpark
The what do you want out of life talks
And the what makes you tick

It was laying on the floor at my apartment
Watching Devil's Rejects
Hands lightly touching
A comfort and a trust

In the later years
The butterflies still fluttered in my stomach
Holding hands in the grocery store
A security and a pride I beamed

It was spooning in our bed
Just feeling you breath bringing me peace
Running my hand through your hair
And a shared smile

It was every day
In the kitchen
You putting your arms around my neck
Mine around your waist, "I love you"

It was our child's birth
Me whispering strength in your ear
Holding you tightly
As we brought our miracle in to this world

It was you in your white dress
And my tux that felt almost worthy in
Your radiance was incalculable that day
Always my sun
Always my moon
Always my heaven
Always my heart
You will never be forgotten
