This Moment

It's true we may never be, but I know our love is real

I want to write words to you that make your heart skip
That carry you so far away you feel your mind slip
In to a reality that has the time and patience for an us
And we hold on to each other in a constant blush

Or wander the earth arm in arm healing each other's wrongs
That other's have laid at our feet and absorbed in our skin
We wash each other anew, it's our time to begin again

You have swept me off my feet as I lay in a wave of your touch
And these days all I do is hope I can move you as much
For you are the light at the end of this tunnel so dark
You resuscitated me when my death seemed so stark

What can I say about the glorious beauty you emit
And the fact that your hands feel like a perfect fit
And your voice sounds like angels singing in my ears
So calming and soothing as it puts to rest my fears

You make me feel redeemed, like maybe I'm not so damned
And you make me feel special to you, like I'm not alone in this stand
If you allow me I'll carry the weight of your world on my back
As I carry your love, so delicately, like a butterfly, on a tack

At last I want to thank you for being who you are
My dearest, my love, my life's guiding star
I know, that is seems, you're never as near as you are far
