I Follow

I Follow

A Poem by Teddybearlee

When you speak
it's like God reading His own pages
Your words carry weight
that put to rest all the arguing of sages

There is a possibility that love can heal all wounds
I feel the salve in your spoken voice
An unmistakable feel in your touch
And it's heartbreaking these cracks will stay, we have no choice

I wish it was the right thing to do
To fight for your love like the champion I want to be
But not only am I drained from the devil's door
There is one chosen ahead of me

Have I fallen so far
That I could tear apart someone elses world with no regret
If only you were a simple star
Not the beautiful goddess glowing in my heart without debt

This is an impossible ending
We lose out on what may be the love of a lifetime
You are making the bigger sacrifice I believe
Because your happiness could have been real no fake lines

Like a ghost you come and go
Leaving behind a sensation of warmth with your touch
I wish I could lift your chains as well
That bind you and sometimes rip at you so rough

I must find the strength
To drift away back to my home in a burning hell of hurt
Leave you in whatever peace you had found
Before you found me crawling along in ashes and dirt
