Writer's Block

Writer's Block

A Poem by Kelly B
"

My first decent poem in several years

"

Ideas garbled in my mind

Light bulbs

Epiphanies

Expressive words and melodic rhythms

Perfectly formed stanzas

Drifting

Inspired

But my pencil stems the flow

Fleeting lines lost

My muse again elusive

Potential of blank paper wasted

Vanishing verses

Refusing to be pinned down

To be trapped by ink and graphite

Wandering my soul instead

Beautiful and useless

Wow ..... I could read this poem all day. I've tried to compose similar verses on writer's block. This is exactly what I've been thinking about and haven't been able to get down. There are so many word choices and lines that I love, but by far my favorite is the last line .... 'BEAUTIFUL AND USELESS' That sums it all up!!!! WOW

This sounds like one of my poems from a few years ago! Definitely a familiar feeling around here, I'm sure.

And you're right - it's pretty decent :)
