Society

A Poem by Texas
"

Physics again. It's the only time I have and I write it in about thrity minutes.

"

Society.

It is a thing in which we all live in.

It sets rules and standards.

Determines who is and who isn't.

Says to be yourself,

But then turns in-to the hypocrite.

Who dismisses all those who are themselves,

And embraces all those who fake.

Society sets its rules and standards,

But ne'er follows them itself.

We are told how to act,

How to talk,

How to walk,

How to dismiss all others who are themselves.

But how can you be yourself,

When you are taught all this?

To be oneself,

Is to be who you are,

No matter what society says.

They are the hypocrites.

Not us,

Who are ourselves.

Author's Note

Texas
Now that I think of it, this would fit 1984 by George Orwell. With the Party controlling everything and everyone has to be the same. No-one is themself. Cruse you Senoir English! P.S.-The picture is to represent one's individuality.
