Hey, Superman

Hey, Superman

A Poem by Lady Decaf

Superman is falling down and all I can do is watch

He won't open his eyes, and he's deaf to my screams

The strong arms that held me seem limp to my touch

He's fighting a villain much stronger than any before

Why can't he see, doesn't he know?

I'm right here beside him as he doubts and he worries

Constantly telling him it will all be ok

But Superman still grows weaker and I'm growing worried

Where is my hero who always was so sure?

I want him to wake up and see who he is

Not the dark shadowed figure he sees through his eyes

But the strong, confident man I love and need to survive

Open those eyes that once held so much light

Fight back your demons with your superhero strength

Time will help and I will be here

Soon you'll see what you truly are

My hero, my love, my best friend, and confidante

A warrior, a hero, a strong-hearted soul, and above all...

The greatest thing that ever came to our Earth.

About
Hey, I'm Jo. I have been writing poetry since I was 13 as a way to express myself. Along the way it evolved into a passion (obsession?) and a way to meet new people. My poetry topics fluctuate but I d.. more..
