Swept Away

Swept Away

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Though we have all been
in the center of it,
we never understand it
from the outside.

We say foolish things
like "Forget about her,"
or "Just let him go."

These things are said
as if there is choice,
as if we are not in the
grasp of an avalanche,
being swept down, not
knowing which way is up,
hardly able to breathe.

It was not meant to be, you'll get over it, God has other plans, he wasn't right for you and other such BS.
I rather like the directness of 'snap out of it'.

spot on irony and satire .. biting and true .. so much more to avail ourselves to sit and be silent in the presence of tragedy, loss and pain :(
well said!

It is amazing just how shallow advice can be when you are buried alive. Nicely done.
