Road To Forever

Road To Forever

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy
"

Some moments stay with you.

"
Days turn into weeks,
Weeks into months,
And months into years.
Despite my desperate clutching,
The memories drop
One by one, from my grasp.
Yet, some cling solidly to
This wretched old soul.

The day that the sun-warmed,
Lilac-scented, May air blew
Through the open
Windows of my car
It blew through the few golden
Strands that escaped the sexy pony-tail
Hanging from beneath your Yankee cap.
Never did I imagine that a Yankee
Cap could look so wonderful.

Tan legs, stretched leisurely onto
The dashboard and the edge of
The open window, stole my glance
From the road, where it belonged.
How can such a short girl
Have such long legs?

I pondered silently.

Enormous brown eyes and a
Smile to tempt the tempter.
Made me wish that that road
Could stretch into forever.

Perhaps ... just perhaps ... it has.

This is great. My favourite sentence is "Enormous brown eyes and a
Smile to tempt the tempter." A smile to tempt the tempter....I just love that because it's so honest. The feeling of having memories fade is truly helpless and awful, and you've captured it well, with a bittersweet undertone. It's very lovely.

A bit of nostalgia, with a some melancholly thrown into your aching heart. Nicely done.

"I wished that that road would
Stretch into forever."
I like that.
You have captured these memories vividly.
"The memories drop
One by one, from my grasp
Despite my desperate clutching."
These lines made my heart drop. Delivered well!

Bravo.. this sounds like a wonderful moment and memory in time.. if creatively written .. sounded very real.. In reality we have moments and memories that are sometimes so cherished that they do stretch seemingly into forever. Really enjoyed this writing!
