Chapter Two: The Demon Awakens

I woke up the next morning and started on breakfast. I made enough for the both of us, in the hopes that he would eat some with me. "I hope he's okay. I'm really worried about him." 

As I'm standing over the stove, I feel hot breath on my neck. "Aaah!" I shriek. I turn around quickly to see who it is and find that it is just the boy "You shouldn't be walking around. You're seriously injured." I tell him. "Please. As if such wounds could kill me. I'm Stronger than a puny human such as yourself." He replies coldly. I find that comment strange. "Just who does he think he is?! He's just as human as-" I stop thinking. I look into his eyes. "Your...your eyes...they're...red." I slowly state. "Well of course they are! I'm a demon, what do you expect! Are all humans as slow as you?" I can't believe what I've just heard! "You're kidding, right?" "What, do ya need proof? Here's your proof!" He holds out his hand and opens his palm. There is a spark and suddenly a small fire appears in his palm. "No..no way! This can't be!" I exclaim. I put myself against the wall, and as far away from him as possible. He puts the fire out and walks toward me. "Whats your name, human?" "Kyohei. Kyohei Sunohara. What is yours?" "Huh, a demons name is far beyond human comprehension." "So what, you want me to just call you demon? Ah, never mind that, what about your wounds?" "I'm fine." "No you're not! Now take off your clothes and let me see!!" I begin to attempt to take off his shirt. "Let me go you wench!!" He yells. I struggle with him until he trips on the pallet I made for him and stumbles backwards. I land on top of him. "See what you've done. You had to be hard headed. Now, lets take a look at those wounds." I tell him. I take off his shirt and am shocked at what I see. "No way! There's nothing there! Not even a scar!" "Ha! I told you, I'm a demon! Simple wounds like that will heal in a day." I let him put his shirt back on and offer him breakfast. "I don't eat human food, stupid." "Well excuse me for not knowing what demons eat!" I exclaim while throwing my frying pan at him. It hits him and he falls on my table. Breaking it in half. My face began to turn red with anger. "You broke my table you jerk!" "Its your own fault stupid!" We argued on and off for a few minutes. After things calmed down, we both sat on my couch to discuss our situation. "Mind telling me why I found you half dead in an alley?" I asked. "Well, it's a long story." "It's the weekend, so I've got plenty of time." "Ok well, here it goes. I was attacked by an angel yesterday. After a very long battle, the angel shot me with a sacred arrow with a demon seal attached to it. After that, I lost consciousness and fell out of the sky where we were fighting at, and fell into that alley." "A demon seal?" I question. "What is that?" "A demon seal is an angel's only defense against a demon and is a sneaky trick. If a demon is struck with a demon seal, almost all of their powers will be sealed within it, and the rest of their powers will be stuck inside of the demon's Faustian Mark." "Ok I'm lost. What's a Faustian Mark?" I ask. "It's the mark a demon carries on their body. It is also the thing that appears on a human who forms a contract with the demon. Every demon's Faustian Contract Mark is different." "So, how do you get the powers out of the mark?" "The only way to do that is to form a contract with a human. So, what do you say? Is there anything you desire? If so, I will form a contract with you." "Wait a minute! Don't demons eat human souls? There's no way I'm giving you my soul!" I reply. "Well since I require you, I'll let you live once the contract is complete. All you have to do is accompany me on my quest to find that seal which was cast into an unknown area. So, what is it you desire?" "Umm. Ok I've got it. I will make a contract with you."
