The Four Angels

The Four Angels

A Poem by The Dudeman (Kenneth T)
"

For full effect, you might have to read this twice.

"
I am the Angel of Light.
I bring warmth and hope when you need me most
And sometimes when life is just fine too.
I provoke the smiles of friends and strangers
Random acts of kindness to show that life is worth living and enjoying.
My invisible light called "Joy"
Keeps the darkness at bay.

I am the Angel of Darkness.
I am the source of your pain and despair.
One day, your mind is calm
And the next, it is filled with my grief.
Will you cry out for salvation?

I am the Guardian Angel.
I am the reason why humans thrive.
I am that luck, that fortune that keeps you alive
Even in the most crucial times.
Even without light
I will keep you safe from death.

I am the Angel of Death.
I am the one you meet when the Guardian Angel fails.
The countless millions that I take are all martyrs for something:
Nation, honor, duty, money, lust, power,
And love.

Us four angels
We are nothing alike,
But exactly the same.
Nobody sees that we are only different faces of one being.
A being with godly power,
More than light,
More than darkness,
More than life,
More than death.
Who could I be then?
What god could have such power?
I will tell you:

I am the Angel of Love.

Author's Note

The Dudeman (Kenneth T)
I don't even remember exactly what my train of thought was for this, but I liked the way it turned out. I believe it truly shows the many faces of love. Yes, the perspective shift in the last stanza was intentional.

WOW!!! I love this, the way you branched off and told about each one and then reunited them at the end. I also really liked the way you wrote this, I'm all about individuality and this shows it. BRAVOOOO!! :D

I absolutely love the way this was written. It makes me feel inspired to write more and more! What I like the most is that in love there is all those four things. My favorite lines in this poem is "We are nothing alike, but exactly the same." I don't know why but it reminds me of a void or something. As I've told you, your writing is amazing. More then amazing. Words cannot even describe it. Please, write more. I would love to read it. Because reading yours gives me a better idea of how to be a writer.

I like how you take something and analyze it to come up with different reasons/perceptions of things.

A strong and powerful poem. I like how you set-up the poem. Telling a story for each Angel. A outstanding poem of strength and love.

I really like this. It seems to have a certain faith. Also the fact that you (at least through this) seem to have an incredibly strong faith in the power of love. Keep it up. This is defietly a favorite

When you don't really know what your writing about
it usually turns out good.

I LOVE the different lines of different kinds of
