King's Cross

King's Cross

A Poem by TheJordBaker

Your heart hurts, the pills don’t stop it.
Lights stain wet sand, hands in pockets.
You’ve no hands to cross with.
The lighthouse is blued up, it glows.
She’s waiting at King’s Cross, your darling.
She just doesn’t know.

Running together, the nights and days.
The bright star, it’s coming, your death.
They take it all, the blood from your veins.
The needle, your chest, what you become.
You step off at King’s Cross, you’re too late.
Your chance has gone.

There is something about the rhythm to this that is unique. I really enjoy reading your work. That last line so sad, so sad.
