Rollercoaster

Life is a rollercoaster!

Caught on a rollercoaster

With flashbacks rolling by

Times of joy and times of sadness

Twist and turn as my life is shifted upside down

Stuck on this rollercoaster

Where I bump along the hard times

I'm high above the ground

It's a good thing I'm buckled in

Or else I would never make it through this ride

Of lost dreams and unfulfilled promises

Of harsh treatments and blatant distrust

It never stops, this rollercoaster

Just keeps getting faster and faster

Until I feel like I can't hold on to the handlebars

For much longer

This metaphor referring to life

Forever on this rollercoaster.

This is my first free verse poem, so sorry of it's not very advanced! Please tell me what you think!

oh i loved this :3 it was a nice way to describe life(well thats what i thought the message was about) It's constantly turbulent and ever shaking, impossible to really control. This was great for your first time doing a free verse

I don't really come up with them in any way. I just usually thin up the first line, and the rest just comes to me as I type. I sometimes look up different words and stuff to use, though.

This is a amazing metaphorical / free verse poem. It showes how sometimes can be rough and scary, but others can be smooth going, and enjoyable. Where do you come up with your ideas? How do you decide what word you would like to use? Or does it just come to you?

For your first poem like this it was written especially well. :)
