i can't see you anymore

i can't see you anymore

A Poem by m.s.early

searching boxes of albums for a trace
of scenes I was blessed with as a child
to regain what time had taken and replace
guilt with the mem'ry I'd lost of your face
and settle my restless conscience for a while
what happens when a cherished mem'ry fades
and years have passed liked travell'd miles
i fear i've disavowed a promise made
things that left that should have stayed
explain why i can't remember anymore
if this is debt, tis too much to pay
tell me lest i evermore implore
though my recollection has failed me here
believe my love for you is e'er sincere

'i can't see you anymore'
m.s.early,
It is they way of things to be aware of a change in our environment..
that is of our soul, of our mind, of our emotions. I found the imagery of:
"searching boxes of albums for a trace
of scenes I was blessed with as a child"
Your words describe how layers of time just as past memorabilia can ac-
cumulate and we find that life continues on. But and but.. last two lines:
"though my recollection has failed me here
believe my ove for you e'er sincere"
Beautiful way to realize that life is one layer of experience leading to
another.
Blessings to you.
Kathy

Thank you Queenie. I'm glad it could touch you :)
Your poem clearly tells you try as hard as a human can do, that is way more than enough, we are fragile, regular souls with our strengths and weakness, fading is fine as far as thoughts coming as some delayed regurgitation of memories, hope you are OK, be nice and kind to yourself

As someone who understands this, I can say with my heart that even though we hold onto memories and photographs, memorabilia and so on, it is only natural that we do lose some recollection...we have to go on and survive, make life our mission, so to speak, so naturally, each day shapes us into acceptance, we have no choice in that...doesn't mean we loved them any less....whether a relationship or a passed loved one...grief is a potent lifestyle to bear at times! x

Most welcome x
this is a lovely sonnet. it's graceful in words and form. it's sad when a cherished memory fades. it just happens. it's not your fault.

Don't you hate losing the person you loved and having to pack everything, leaving no traces behind? :( This is sad but beautifully written

You like apostorphe's? Im kidding :) I like this piece Xavier. To lose touch with a elegant memory or even.person who.made us feel so alive, can ache so badly, we know we love.
