A Poem by m.s.early

An acorn
strained its shell,
took its root,
and disappeared,
then from the earth
manifested a sprig.
Fifty years passed,
but in the eye of the Infinite
the standing happened in a moment,
and now an oak, bloomed.
A planter,
observed its morph
cultivated it, tilled beforehand
and waited...
for the acorn to strain its shell,
take root,
and manifest a sprig.
The acorn, now an oak
watched him pass,
become a wisp into the Infinite;
it continued extending,
its acorns,
they plopped down in its shade.
The planter
could not live that long.
The acorn, now an oak,
counted planters
collecting acorns
they would never harvest
across centuries,
though in the eye of the Infinite
its standing happened in a moment.

brings to mind an acorn that has transformed into an oak over time and outlives the planter. it's amazing that out of an ordinary acorn this developed into a majestic oak and existed over centuries, but 'though in the eye of the Infinite its standing happened in a moment.' goes to show the creation of man's linear time has no relevance to that of the Infinite. this piece covers the subject of time which is a heavy topic and shows it need not be questioned but can only be attributed to the Infinite. this makes for a great allegory.

What we give to Nature, it gives back to us many-fold, sometimes even conferring on us, a bit of immortality...This a beautiful writing Xavier...

Time. What a topic to embrace.
For the creator, the cycle from
birth to aged tree is but a blink
of the eye. For us, it's an eternity.
Nice piece of work. I never know
what to expect from you.
Variety is good.
