Eagle

Eagle

A Poem by Nicola

Feathers ache to brush the tips of stars-

Soaring higher than high, an arc

Of majesty in winter’s dawning kiss.

Pleasure lifts, power fuels, to break the cage, azure like

Skies that trap and sneer.

Eyes ivory, reflect the lonely moon, seek a treasure far beyond the bleak confines of space;

Gaze through the inky blackness to the paradise beyond.

Rippling limbs, tear apart, reveal

The fire; the beating, burning heart.

This is a race, to melt into the Sun before the blood is desecrated:

Passion into ash.

Fly to the fury of your raging pulse, craving all you cannot touch;

Emotions chaotic, a rainbow of sparks and heat collide

With the aurora of your wings.

Sweep its curves and glow the searing red of blood on lace, majestic and evil.

Take to the air, my beautiful hunter:

Glide to a world beyond our reach.

Better to soar with the eagles at dawn, than sing with the owls at dusk. I like those poem, sham it has been overlooked by others.
