Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice

A Poem by The White Rose
"

Written spur-of-the-moment after a bump in the road with my boyfriend. Relationships in reality aren't fairy tales. Despite the level of cliche-ness in that observation.

"

Fire and Ice are not meant to be
Compared with such as honey and bees
Defied, and none would go free

If such laws ceased existence
Star-cross'd lovers may find
A life stripped of penance

But Fire touched Ice and Ice held Fire
Until Mother Nature felt cheated, so the straw
Broke the camel's back for it was to expire

So I cried a river in which i drowned
Hoped you would save me but you
Couldn't swim, staying safe and sound

Blue waves that crashed against and gave a kiss
To the stormy rocks that rose and rose
Shuddered the Earth, a trembling abyss

And when the Eye of the storm passed by
Such sweetness so sincere
That even pure angels cannot deny

For Fire was gentle and Ice was warm
When Fire was honey and Ice was a bee
and the flames wrapped around Ice's form

I almost immediatly picked up on the referance being a huge Robert frost fan. This was very well done even though i've never been a huge fan of ryhme but you did it pretty well

This was sad but strong. :D Good job! Very powerful diction, and I especially like the stanza,
"So I cried a river in which i drowned
Hoped you would save me but you
Couldn't swim, staying safe and sound."
:D Keep it up!! :D
