Superiority

Superiority

A Poem by The_Last_Spartan

Just because I don’t believe in an old man up in the clouds,

Telling me what is right,

And what is wrong.

Just because I like to believe that I control my own fate,

And that there is no one to blame but me for my mistakes.

Just because my version of serenity,

Is not the Heaven you depict it to be;

Does not mean that you are better than me.

Just because I don’t attend church anymore,

And I don’t pray to a fiction novel,

Does not make you somehow superior.

I will respect your beliefs,

Your God,

You,

But only if you can respect me too.

Whatever I believe in.

Whatever path I choose to take.

Whatever I believe happens after we all die,

Whatever salvation means.

You have no right to take that away.

About
I hate these types of things; you know the: "DESCRIBE YOURSELF" thing. I always have trouble really trying to explain what kind of person I am. I guess I never really know, we never really know our tr.. more..
