Home in the Stars

Home in the Stars

A Poem by C Peril
"

To be free. Really free.

"
My slight tremor...
I am seismic, shaky
The brittle body that
plans out Earthly betrayal
Is a rattling thing
And I its captive prisoner
Wish that my soul was cloaked
in something more regal,
robust, resplendent
Throw the flesh on the junk pile
And shiver as a streaming jet
of ethereal white into the
captivating conundrum of
milkshake Galaxies

Home in the Stars,
the only impervious place

We are the stuff of stars; carbon based life forms growing in the belly of space. Mankind has an overrated opinion of himself. The universe is immense. If we spent more time exploring and less on warring amongst ourselves we might figure that out. What is it they say? Ashes to ashes, dust to dust? Maybe we eventually return to the cosmic chaos from which we were born. Maybe heaven is a literal reality. Maybe God is watching. I really enjoyed this. Your strong imagery is prevalent. Great stuff.

Wow, that is a thought and a half - the stars being the only impervious place. Thanks for sharing.
