Hell or High Water

Hell or High Water

A Poem by C Peril

The World fed me in gems and jewels:
Ample orange; emerald green; sunlight
banana And the skies were not unkind
to me - lustrous blue sapphire skies

So I wept in the ineptitude of my
charcoal temperament; I was pain
that couldn't quite combust
In spite of it all, no fire
No fruition
