A Poem by C Peril

F**k. It's exhausting,
when your relationships
feel like a tower of wooden blocks.
And like. In your interactions,
as you try and build higher, uppety-
upper... you know that
you're playing this precarious game
whereby your words
could do some serious
structural damage to the base
of this thing. F**k the prodding
probing. And the whole
swaying erection is apt
to anticipate the laws
of motion and mercilessly
rain upon the table top.
Unintentional (equally
inevitable) demolition.

And you're back where you began,
just finding someone else to play with.
