How Soon is Gone?

How Soon is Gone?

A Poem by C Peril

If a writer breaks their wrist,
if a boxer breaks their fist,
if a painter lost both eyes,
if a poet ceased to cry,
would a heart then cease to beat,
would we all be incomplete
and so very void and lost and lonely -
is that just being phony?

Sometimes I think I need a reason
to live, seldom do I cherish
what I give I'm so busy trying
to take the pain away,
I forget how fragile it all is...

how soon it'll all be gone

Only a poet could convey such realistic wisdom in such words. A wish or curse is that you continue to be inspired by your creativity and art. So the world can read them. CLE
