"

"Father that b***h Hope you gave me keeps runnin' off, seems like every time I turn around I've lost it."

"Son do you still have Faith?"

"Yes Father, I never leave home without my Faith, I'm as loyal to that mutt as can be."

"So let Faith guide you son, and you'll find Hope."

"All right Father, I'll turn Faith loose, and see if she can lead me to Hope, but I don't know if that dog is worth the trouble. You know, I keep that b***h around because of my kids, and my wife; when we have Hope around, seems we're happier, and every time we lose Hope, our hearts break. I just don't know if we can go through the heartaches anymore."

"Son, I promise you, if you have Faith you'll find Hope. You see, Faith and Hope are two dogs related, they are sisters, and if you are loyal to Faith she will guide you to Hope, and Hope as troublesome as she is can lead you to happiness, so when you lose Hope, trust in Faith to guide you."

"Thank you Father! I love you! And I always feel better after our little talks."

"You know I love you too son, now get out there and let that dog Faith run and guide you back to Hope."

"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! You'll never guess where we found Hope!"

"You're tellin'  me you've found Hope?"

"Yes, daddy, we let Faith out and she took us right to her, and she has puppies daddy!"

"You mean to tell me all this time I thought she was lost, and she was out bringing more Hopes into the world?"

"Yes, daddy, can we keep 'em?"

"Don't you want these Hopes to bring happiness to other children?"

"Like spreading Hope?"

"Yes!"

HA!
This was a kids story that keeps on giving. The actual personification of the terms was only made sweeter by the fact that they were dogs. Almost gives it a filth spin. I know there is good here, but I can;t help thinking one of two things. 1. Faith and hope can be trained to s**t outside, sit and beg which just speaks metaphoric volumes. 2. making the ideas dogs means they are loyal...but will still bite the f**k out of you if crossed.

Thats a thinker

A wonderful story. Faith "belief in things unseen" personally keeps me holding on to Hope.

What a wonderful tale, Tommy (pun intended). I love the metophors of Hope and Faith as dogs. Great write!

I like the metaphore, using dogs (b***h) as representatives of hope and faith. It may be short, but it sure shows a great deal. Great job!

He who has Faith can move mountains...

of dog crap.

Kidding! This is great, Tommy! A very clever, very intelligent, very meaningful write. Love the way you worked it all the way through without your metaphor breaking once. Well done!
