She did my poem

She did my poem

A Poem by Tiffani (Chase) Miller

I listened attentively

And sat in awe and dismay

She did my poem

And I had no one to blame but myself

She did not look over my shoulder

Or telepath her way into my thoughts

She did the few things that I didn’t

            She picked up her pen

She prayed

Fasted

Studied His word

Was okay with working and failing for Him

Willing to step out even if reputation didn’t stay in tack

She is using the gift God gave her

And only His approvals she is after

She did not wait on her own agenda

Or when it would benefit her

And it reminded me

God will use you but

You must be in the position to be used

Be willing to sacrifice and do “the work”

Only faith I know where we expect benefits

With part time efforts

We expect to be best of something

But spend no time with our teacher

We want a free ride

But won’t even complete the simple application

He gave you a note it said

Do you believe check box yes or no

But we’re living in a maybe factor

And then get mad because we’re always

The bridesmaid and never the bride

We must be careful before it is us that He will deny

Our gifts  are not of our own

And we’re not designed for personal gratification

But we still have the nerve to call ourselves

The managers

She did my poem and I wasn’t even mad at her

I was glad

Because she did what God called for her

And He reminded me when He lets me speak

It is my job to help someone else pick up their pen and speak

The shock of the reality made it clear

That this was an urgency

The use of my gift can no longer survive

On the life line of maybe

I’m a Psalmist of this new generation

And my spiritual life

Must be the song that never ends

I belong to a culture that is the continued

Pages of Gods poets

I am called to write about it

Speak to it

Unite with my fellow poets

And continue the passing of His note

Do you believe check box yes

Because God can do anything but fail

And it is His love you want
