Clawing The Sky

Clawing The Sky

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

Vampire.

"
The pain is intense
when the moon rises high
blood full and red
their eyes seem to bleed
more alive now than dead

The blood thirst rides them hard
it drives them from their coffins
eyes seeking in the crimson night
their fangs ache to pierce living flesh
they seek relief in the blood red light

No one is safe when they are hunting
shadows conceal them from their victims
everyone is their hapless prey
when the blood moon slides up the night sky
the night embraces their thirsty ways

A powerful poem on the darker side of vampirism. These vampires are more like the monsters of the past, not the romantic and guy or gal next door vampires. Or the cute student sitting behind you in a high school classroom. A very enjoyable horror poem.

Thank you.
Yes about the blood moon. I hope to see it too.
I liked the energy and the drive of the words. I could feel the hunger and need in the words. Thank you my friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome my friend.
Vicious and bloodthirsty vampires. Not ones you can get all cuddly with. Awesome horror write!

A rather chilling and sinister vamp poem. Makes all my cat hair stand on end! Amazing and frightening work!

Thanks very much!
These vampires sound like the not so nice ones. The vampires only interested in survival and not getting cozy with their meals. Nicely done!

What a coldness and bitter feeling this brings over the mind... the dark shadows unleashing even darker demons... draining every living drop of hope.
