Dark Birds

Dark Birds

A Poem by Tina Kline

Black angry dots

silhouetted against the dark stormy sky

I could feel their rage

as they drew closer and closer

dark arrows

aiming right for me

oh, their awful voices

as they drew closer

increasing in size

somewhere about now I decide to run

It is raining

The ground is slick

The Douglas Firs are heavy with damp

The angry crows

are almost with me

their loud voices screaming

their feathers sounding like death

I race for my car

knowing I won’t make it

I feel the talons at my neck

digging in

I feel the large hard beak

pulling my hair

black wings hitting my face

more and more attack

I fall beneath their onslaught

Black beaks pecking and tearing

wings beating me

talons ripping at my skin

Hell, I think this would make a great horror movie!

about attacking blood thirsty crows

and there is no explanation

for this very uncrow like behavior

I enjoyed the comic relief at the end it just reminds me of something Iwould be thinking if I had been attacked by angry crows. "if this idea wasn't already a movie i'd totally have creative rights over it!" anyways nice imagery nice story very easy to follow way to go!

As Daphne DuMaurier's "The Birds" here it would be Tina Kline's "The Crows"...
Very well penned - could be truly worth a movie - or a great Halloween story ...

Palpable thrill and creepy scary images. Perfect job!

Great imagery. I think your movie would be better, course you have to love Hitchcock. Someone I look up to with his brilliance....

Great work.

This makes me shiver. I can just see this happening because crows are always traveling around in huge flocks, their voices ringing far and wide! Plus I saw the movie The Birds more than once!

The crow is a large bird. Could be a fearless enemy if they decided to attack. I seen 50 together on the coastline of Georgia.. I like the story. Would be a scary tale if the crows decided to attack. A excellent poem. Thank you.
