The ocean

The ocean

A Poem by Tobias Ådin
"

A euphemism for depression.

"
It never leaves you,
Sneaking up on you when you least expect it.
The ocean.
It drowns you slowly,
More every time.
Some days it's calm,
Just a simple drip, drip.
Other days,
It's like a violent storm,
Submerging you under powerful torrents.
Even on good days,
You hear it constantly
At the back of your mind.
Drip, drip, drip.
It's always there,
Never ending.
Slow and steady,
Or fast and ruthless.
Until one day,
You inevitably drown.
The ocean is merciless.
