Ghost

Ghost

A Poem by ToriSchrodi

I can’t breathe.

I walk around,

Numb.

I feel like a ghost.

Just floating.

I can barely feel my heartbeat.

A life without you,

Is a life I don’t want to live.

You’ve become so entwined in my life.

My family adores you.

My friends think of you as one of us.

Neither of us want this to end.

We both sit in tears.

Unable to even think of a life without each other.

We made plans.

We created a future in our heads.

A future that’s impossible.

This poem is simply profound and profoundly relatable although it seems to come from an experience that is uniquely your own, if perhaps shared in some ways with another person. I empathize with your heartbreak and I wish you well in whatever healing and life you so desire.
