Missing Summer

Missing Summer

A Poem by D.E. Ball
"

Renga is Japanese collaborative poetry. Someone writes the first two lines in a way that would make it difficult for the next person to write the last three. The syllables per line are 5,7,5,7,7.

"

Missing Summer

Days get short and cold.
Red and yellow is abound.
Luster lost leaves fall.
Jacket clad, missing summer--
Leaves crunch beneath while walking.

(Stated by D.E. Ball, finished by Jen Miller)

--Written on September 19, 2008, along with members of my college's Japanese club, "The Society of the Red Sun."
