Time Passage

Time Passage

A Poem by Tracie Skarbo

If only I could live in the
Fantasy world I once knew,
Where the monsters were imaginary
And people lived in shoes…

If only I could be young again
Like it was before
My heart so full of life
Would constantly soar…

If only my life was
Ready made
I could have enjoyed
My life as a babe…

Believe me, my dear, this is the best of all possible worlds as far as we humans are concerned, because this is the one we are in, and if you can see more and better than your neighbor, then it's your job to help your neighbor. If you lament a world that does not exist, then you live in a world that does not exist, and you and your neighbor are both lost...

In the great words of Peter Pan. "I never want to grow up." This was a wonderful piece. Oh to long for the days of youth and being free.

I enjoyed this, especially your second stanza,
If I could be young again..I probably wouldn't do
have the things I have done. Then again I don't know,
It sure wouldn't change today. I like this, very well expressed.
