Day 45

Day 45

A Poem by Horse of a Different Color
"

everyone knows what day 45 is right?

"
On this the fourteenth day of the second month,
I eat dinner alone for the twenty eighth time.
With a half full glass of whiskey and ice,
Sitting there solemly on my table.
Seeing happy couples everywhere puts a gleam in my eye,
The bubbling spring of hope slowly fills my heart.
As thoughts of loves that have come and gone run into my head,
I return to my lonely humbling abode.
While i drift off to sleep,
I place my hand on my chest just to feel a heartbeat.
Sweet dreams, My love, Where ever you are.
