Shadows

Shadows

A Poem by Strebor

Behind the glitter and the glamor,
There lies the shadows.
The ones waiting to drag you down
Waiting for control
Waiting to be unleashed.

The ones hidden in the closet,
 left in the attic,
Hidden in the farthest recess of the basement.
Their whispering to you, the ones you try to ignore.

You are safe from them, you can pretend their not there
And even believe and forget them.
You can delude yourself into oblivion
But for how long?

They lie in wait for the day to come when you drag them out with a heavy heart
Filled with despair,
Hatred
for the world to see.
For you to relive.
To remember...

The cracks that cant be varnished,
The holes that cant be covered,
The spots that cant be removed,
To remember the wounds that just wont heal...
