Birthday Poem

Birthday Poem

A Poem by Tyler Berg

Today marks the day, you came to be

years down the road, you fell in love with me

Beauty of ages and a soul to match

love like yours was a bountiful catch

But now we are apart, much to my distain

full of sadness and my heart full of pain

Your picture, a knife in my heart

sometimes I wish I never met you to start

But that pain subsides, and melts away

and I manage to get by day to day

No matter how far, no matter the the time

I will never forget your song and your rhyme

So now to you, on the day of your birth

I wanted to tell you, for what its worth

You are still loved, albeit from afar

permanently reminded by loves painful scar
