A Broken Life

A Broken Life

A Poem by Brandon M. Mitchell
"

This is about a girl who was left alone for her whole life with no friends and no love from anyone.

"

A Broken Life

A broken heart stands before you,
Breathing the air we breathe,
Feeling the sensations that we feel.

A broken girl who's trying to make the best of it,
Trying to make the best of her fragile heart,
Her decency,
Her dignity.

That girl,
Wanting to relive her past,
Wanting to have a hopeful life,
Wanting to be a peaceful soul that wonders the streets that we walk.

That girl,
She feels the pain that we feel,
Contorted with the loneliness of her despair,
That loneliness that envelopes her in a package,
A package just waiting to be opened and loved to pieces.

That girl,

The one with no friends,
Who wants to be a regular mortal like we are,
Wants to enjoy the everyday life in which we live,
With the warmth of the friends,
The warmth of the fulfilled dreams that we accomplished.

That girl,
That lonely girl,
The girl that wanted a normal life,
A normal life with friends and love.

That girl,
She feels more harm than the deepest pits of hell,
Plunged to a bottomless nightmare which we call despair,
That girl with the broken life...
