The Hypocrite

The Hypocrite

A Poem by Ursula Kay Vos
"

A twisted tale of life and its reflections, UKV.

"

Looking into

Dark and stormy eyes

Seeing wise words

Spoken by a foolish mind

Makes me think

Its all a lie

Yeah, you did that

Once upon a time

What are you doing now

That is, if you care to read this rhyme

Looking into what was once

warm brown eyes

Now all I see

Are puddles of mud

Filled by your lies

Now you want to cry!

Now you apologize!

Better hope it's not too late

That your omissions haven't cost you

Your prize

Looking in this mirror

Wondering Why

Tears fill my eyes

Why I didn't realize

It was my own eyes

Telling those horrid lies.

Author's Note

Ursula Kay Vos
This is a poem of self reflection, I wrote this reflecting on my controlling nature. Realizing as the poem states in the hope that I am not realizing to late, that though I am now in a great relationship I have not opened up and therefore lied by omission. I will not say when this occured that is not important. Only the realization is.
As always your feedback and critique (of the poem of course ;)) is always welcome and appreciated!
Ursula

Powerful and self analytical. Deep and harsh. Too harsh perhaps. Only you can tell. It is well structured and written. It has an excellent flow and beat. Another great write. But I don't really expect less now. Someone I can always read and know I'm getting quality.

nice work...the mind is an ever seeking emotion...and at times a consuming one...wishing to control the very life we live...it is when we actually look at ourselves and change ourselves that we realize...we control our own mind...

Some of the best writing can come from self evaluation. I and many more can relate to the true nature of.this poem. Great Write!
