How evil is human

How evil is human

A Poem by Usam

In hearts of men, a darkness dwells,
A shadow cast by greed and lies,
With silver tongues and wicked spells,
They weave a web where virtue dies.

From wars that scar the blood-soaked earth,
To whispers sown in envy's shade,
The seeds of malice find their birth,
In souls by twisted desires swayed.

For power's grasp, they break the vow,
Of love and kinship, trust betrayed,
The flames of vengeance brightly glow,
As innocence is cast away.

For though in every beating breast,
A serpent's hiss may sometimes rise,
Let human kindness be our guest,
And chase the shadows from our skies.

I thought this was excellent...you make some good points about good and evil, greed, malice, betrayal; And ...lastly, kindness really works if you use it...to kill all the lies, greed etc....I like the rhyming and your chosen words....
Warmly,
B
