I am innocent moon

I am innocent moon

A Poem by Usam

In shades of silver, silent sentinel,
I've watched Earth spin, a jewel in the vast.
Its beauty blinds, yet scars my lunar shell,
For shadows stain where human deeds are cast.

They tear the flesh of Gaia, green and old,
And poison skies where starlight used to gleam.
Their wars ignite, their stories turn to mold,
Leaving behind a world they don't redeem.

I see their greed, their hunger, cold and stark,
They fight for dust, while empires rise and fall.
Their laughter rings, then fades into the dark,
A fleeting echo in this echoing hall.

Oh, Earth, I weep for you, in craters deep,
And pray the dawn will find humanity asleep.

this is truth, this is real, this is heartbreaking and absolutely love the writing. this is what it means to be a poet, take reality, dark and deep and give it exposure! question it, muse it, expand on it! brilliant piece of writing!

You, our moon may be innocent, because you are far away from earth which suffers in so many ways…. Wars tear us apart, hunger is rampant, and food insufficient, land has been burned and drought has struck us….what is the cause of this, perhaps humans are… because they leave a stain on everything that turns to dust….
Warmly, B
