Juan Diego Jose

Juan Diego Jose

A Poem by K. Louis

A strong man

robust, shorter,

Juan, Diego, Jose...

name doesn’t really matter

he is a worker

Hands callous

Sun up to down-

Moving

today

Juan Diego

Jose

is hunched over

head down

pacing the slabs of concrete

he laid seventeen years ago

hair gone white

scruffy and distinguished to match his regular sized

undershirt usually drenched in sweat

now hidden under a mr. Rodgers

zip up.

earth tone patterned and all

zig zags-

WHERE

his hands have been.

feet pacing,

hands free,

I too wonder-

where time’s gone.
