hello all

hello all

A Poem by K. Louis

I stood on the walkway

well knowing

you were there on the corner

light pole,

with your bronze shower

we had many nights

and with my hand on my heart

said

hello birds

hello rose bushes

hello trees

hello wind

hello moon

hello lizards, you little devils...

hello mountains and hills,

rivers and creeks

hello faded out fence posts;

wood, for your strength.

longevity. leaves--to breathe

for the shadows

and shade

you cast on a hot day;

for the shapes and inspiration.

hello moose and cow and

Yellowstone elk (especially you,

In 2006, that let me look, unafraid.)

hello

 all

.

i feel the speaker talking to a lover...back then, everything i saw, everything i experienced, i felt excited and unafraid because i experienced them with you...now the glow has dimmed...and there is a bit of fear creeping in...looking alone...i know it's not the same.
