Basket Of Fruit

Basket Of Fruit

A Poem by K. Louis

ornamental baskets

disguised for fruit

closed shut at the predator

and predator is anyone

could injure

could kill

looks as sweet

as a hay barrel

floating there on

the flat land

and then closes

up just like a porcupine

at a hand reaching

out

'looks as sweet
as a hay barrel'

opened/closed, we need a barrier sometimes, we are just too fragile to even accept the love around us. i liked that this was slightly enigmatic, the meaning possibly that we need to be careful about those closest to us, they may be setting a trap. fantastic.

This one was far to well written and love the subject, the one you trust the most...hurt you the most!

the ones who often seem most vulnerable could really be the most dangerous.

interesting juxtaposition of vulnerability and dangerous strength.

You've married welcoming imagery and ominous undertones wonderfully here...well done K :)

An offer of sweet tranquility....mirage-like....docile....unremarkable in its stark remarkable ness ....as unavailable as the horizon.

You always make me think. Thank you, k.
