Who was there?

Who was there?

A Poem by ChinaDoll1928
"

Dedicated to everyone who has ever made promises they never intended to keep.

"
You said you'd be there,
Be there for me always,
Even after everything,
You said you'd be there,
But who was there,
When I couldn't stop crying?
Not you.
Who was there,
To hold my hand through it all?
Not you.
Who was there,
To help me pick up the pieces?
Not you.
Who was there,
To save me from myself?
Not you.
Who was there,
To pick me up when I fell?
Not you.
Who was there,
When I needed someone the most?
Not you.
You said you were there,
There for it all,
I just didn't see it,
 But you were there.
I agree.
Who was there,
To break me like an old glass figurine?
Now that was you.
Who was there,
To watch me cry but did nothing?
That was you.
Who was there,
To break my walls then cut me open?
That was you.
Who was there,
To shake me up and poison my thoughts?
That was you.
Who was there,
to abandon me, shove me out, breathless?
That was you.
It was all you.
Is that what you call being
'There for someone"?
If it is then I don't want you,
To be "there" anymore.
