The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by ~VertoAtrum~
"

I don't like thunder.... "What's thunder, dad?" "It's giants having bowling matches in the clouds". That's what he told me, and I still think of it that way =]

"

Is it? Could it be?

Has the storm come to me?

With rainy drops and thunder clops,

I’m hearing it quite clearly.

It starts off slow,

But it picks up,

And the showers have begun,

The wind whips fierce,

And shakes the trees,

The dark swallows the sun.

Is it? Could it be so?

Will it never go?

The thunder roars, and the sky, it pours,

The clouds, they hover low.

As I was told,

When I was young,

Thunder is giants bowling,

They threw a strike,

Flashed did the heavens,

And so they keep them rolling.

Is it? Could it be true?

The sky is turning blue,

The rain is gone, dark clouds withdrawn,

I think the storm is through.
