"Pleaser"

A hand held a heart
and penetrated its physique with dirty nails,
next to a cage,
under an immobile tree,
Stuck in its ways.
I'm somewhere,
But not far away.
Today might be a good one,
if I plant my kidneys outside
and watch a death bloom.
So it bloomed, and he watched it,
while he held a penetrated heart
And complained that the cage was empty.
Rain needs a garden like a pin needles need a cushion,
So he bought an umbrella
And thrust my face in the soil,
forced my tears,
And smiled casually,
while death grew a desperate face.
I'm somewhere,
But not far away.
Today might be a good one,
if I plant my womb outside
and watch life bloom.
I sat in his cage,
Under an immobile tree,
Forever stuck in his ways.

You've written this to flow through the blood with so much magic and metaphor. Yes, how it seems we too often find ourselves surrendering our dreams to fulfill those of someone else. And we become the soil they plant in. Dark and deep. xo
