Bleeding Out

Bleeding Out

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

You cut into me
removed my heart
and the beating
of my soul died slowly
than all at once
you handed it
half dead
back to me

And you tried
to stitch up
my chest

And than

And than you
acted like
nothing
happened
like you did
nothing wrong
like you were
the only one broken
like you were
the only one
drowning
in pain

You acted like
you were
the one
bleeding

And the worst part

The worst part was

While I overlooked
my own wounds
tending to yours
trying to double stitch
your ripped broken darkness
into a new broken
puzzle piece heart

Neither one of us saw
that I was bleeding to death

lol that's funny ... I to hate auto correct but it has made for some laughs ... It was a mistake I'l.. read more
It tends to be that way, unrequited selflessness. There's a line you got to draw, I've learned that the gardest way possible. I noticed "than" is spelled incorrectly, unless that's some kind of obscured poetic significance lol. Other than that, I really enjoy your style. You're a true wholehearted sort of poet. Kudos

Irreversibility...and the fact that every hapless mark we may want to efface remains and reminds. Thanks for sharing

There is no doubt about what you were feeling. Well expressed.

Great piece. There's a lot of emotion behind this.

Cliches and metaphors of the heart always make for good poetry. I love the brilliant line puzzle piece heart.

Puzzle peice heart
Where do I start
Begin by filling in
The darkest part
The hurt of your rejection
Or the cliche of my confusion
When you said we were no more than friends
Puzzle piece heart does the pain ever end

Thanks for inspiring me.

That is the greatest with of a poet us for their work to inspire others thank you Michael
ouch, what a touching piece, one that I can relate to; too often we worried about our loved ones to an extent that puts us at risk. That's the thing about love. great job!

Powerful artwork and words my dear poet friend.
"Neither one of us saw
that I was bleeding to death"
When we bleed, we also learn we are alive. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.
