Mother EarthA Poem by Samantha ~virginpoetThe truth as I see itLet me
just write this down Late rain falling soft from heaven love to all of earth is given Sunshine sparkles in the spray Rainbow seen no other way Life resumes from the decay Slowly sprouting from the ground flowers are creeping up a mossy mound Sunshine lights up the emerald grass which is leaning to one side to let the flowers pass They silently grow without harm and bloom into beauty overflowing with charm Dancing on the breeze and resting in a daze they attract all sorts of praise Birds sing songs of a lovely sight Bees buzzzz all about Perfume swirling in the air creating a purple haze at which you cannot help but smell Summers warmth on the Breeze apple blossom flowering on dewy trees sunshine rays light up the dark days of winters past creamy gold honeysuckle and lilac lavender fill the sweet air with scents softer than satin as though floating on a gentle breath of warm air from the mouth of Mother Nature herself Leaves gently whisper on trees as they get swayed softly by the crisp breeze Tall stands the Redwood tree the rain falls from the east washing away a thousand ages of great souls west of the rapids my people say there are fables of Redwood trees that house the souls of brave warriors Rebellious as they pierce the sky frightening heights that touch the clouds Standing strong against man and nature many heroes passed through them Peace and warmth flow through my veins as I lie here on golden land of these beautiful plains magically colored rolling emerald hills Resting on my back soaking in the beauty I stare at the sky and silently relax Longing of the heart still sound seen its beauty all around nothing can this power confound truth that's in us will resound Rainbow memory of truth is security enough mankind made of greater stuff I blink and breathe in wonder as the minutes pass sifting through the memories of the past I feel the universe pull A breath of air is inhaled with all of its crisp taste clean yet unclean filthy'd by the arrogance of man under-appreciated Only appreciated by a few Soaking it all in my eyes closed to save a dying picture of a fast fading time For what is here today can soon be stripped away tomorrow Rotting garbage fills the once sweet air with putrid scents as we breathe in the decay of mans waste inhaling the exhaling death from the mouth of Mother Nature returning our gifts back to us Stupidity will start to work our minds more trash and pollution materialistic consumption is what matters most not this land They say let it die cut it down we're to lazy to plant a seed each man says let someone else do it Use use use Consume consume Consume Why recycle we're to lazy to take an extra step Lets rewind the hand of time to when Mother Nature was pure and nature was free of mans greed Are we to late I think we are Will we stand by and let our future childrens children be Eaten by Mother Earth Ozone depletion Global warming Extinction Earthquakes Citizen's fear the wrath of Mother Nature but most think its a problem our generation will not live to see but that's my point mans nature now is to compete consume eat and destroy taking the path in inaction My nature is not competitive I'm cooperative but I wont go with the flow of desolation By Samantha Campbell © 2011 Samantha ~virginpoetAuthor's Note
